This is what I made to ship the R2. I used lightweight thin wall 16mm square steel to make the frame and 3mm plywood for the sides. I have never see a bicycle crate before so I do not know if anyone else uses any middle bars but it adds a LOT of strength to the crate. Anyway this is what I made. You may copy this design if you wish. My only complaint is that is weighs 25 kilos.
